World Vision Ethiopia began its first intervention in Ethiopia in 1971 with relief and opened the Ethiopia office in 1975. Relief, rehabilitation, and small community development projects dominated the decade that followed. During the 1984/85 drought, World Vision Ethiopia participated in a massive relief operation that saved the lives of millions of people.

Starting its operation with emergency intervention in some parts of Ethiopia, World Vision currently operates in 53 Area Programs (APs) implementing effective programmes, such as Education, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Nutrition, Emergency Response, Faith and Development, Food Security, Economic Development, Climate change, and environmental projects and other cross-cutting programmes.

Position 1: JR34389 TSFP facilitator (WFP)

Job Description

  • Respect the dignity of beneficiaries, caretakers and members of the community at all times.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day coordination and management of outreach workers, crowd controllers,
  • community mobilizers and food disturbers at field level
  • Prepare distribution plans, request distribution dispatches and follow up proper storage at FDC level until the distribution.
  • Facilitate screening, verify and compile screening data.

Required Professional Experience

  • Minimum three years working experience with NGOs in TSFP/BSFP program Experience in BSFP/TSFP, Food Aid  programmes or community-based nutrition intervention preferably in emergency context Knowledge of latest developments in nutrition and food security Knowledge and practical experience of the national/international Community Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) protocols and BSFP Programming is an advantage Experience in facilitating trainings and workshops

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

  • BSc degree in Public Health/ Clinical Nursing/Nutrition and related health field of study preferred from accredited universities or health colleges

Position 2: Social Worker

Job Description

  • Taking a lead role in case management of children, youth and women affected by the conflict in the target communities.
  • Liaising with local government stakeholders (Women and children Affairs, Social Affairs, Health sector, faith organizations etc) and other stakeholders regarding implementing the psychosocial support measure to ensure complementarity and flexible, efficient service delivery to other emergency response plans.
  • Undertaking establishment activities in relation to the measure to enable service delivery to commence as soon as possible
  • Undertaking an effective case management approach to the delivery of psychological and psychosocial services.
  • Applying evidence based knowledge and understanding of the mental health systems, community health and service needs, service delivery, referral pathways in providing holistic therapeutic services.

Required Professional Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

– Relevant experience in child protection in emergency (CPiE) and Child Protection Minimum Standards

– Proven experience in designing and implementing psycho-social training programs and Psychological first aid service delivery mechanisms.

– Knowledge and experience in application of international technical guidelines and standards in Inter Agency for Mental Health and Psycho-social services

– Knowledge and experience on Gender Based Violence programming an asset.

– Knowledge of and ability to implement integrated CP responses, including Gender Based Violence.

  • Direct case management and experience working with children and adolescents is an asset.

Position 3: Compliance Officer

Job Description

  • Monitor food aid resources in JEOP operational Woredas’ warehouses and ensure the commodities are stored in line with the standard. Ensures that all warehouses are keeping proper warehousing standards set by Donor. Monthly inspect all warehouses, take physical inventory and forward all findings to the immediate supervisor.
  • Assist and monitor the field commodity teams in the proper management of food aid resources in line with the commodity management guide.  Follow up that the allocated foods have arrived in each distribution site and necessary food packages are in place before projects call beneficiaries for distribution.
  • Ensure an adequate filing system is in place in all warehouses and easy to access them when required.

Required Qualification and Requirements  

  • MA/MSC, BA/BSc Degree in social science fields such as Development studies, Agriculture, Economics, Accounting and other related fields
  • Technical Training qualifications required on Compliance and accountability    at food resource set up

Required Professional Experience

  • Education: BSC in Water resource Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering and other related fields
  • Experience: 2 years for MSC or 4 years for BSc on relevant project/program experience of WASH in an international NGO or similar organization.

Job Description

  • Lead and coordinate the implementation of WFP-GFD Food assistance support activities and take all the necessary steps to make sure program implementation is in accordance with the objectives or purpose of the program.

Position 6: Regional GFD MEAL Coordinator

Required Professional Experience

  • At least 5 years demonstrated field-based experience with grant projects, experience working with WFP/BHA Projects is preferable,

Required Professional Experience (Essential)

Position 8: WASH Administration Support Officer

Job Description

  • Provide direct administrative assistance to the WASH Director and WASH team
  • Follow up on issues needing Director’s urgent attention and ensure deadlines are kept
  • Provide administrative support to the WASH team
  • Assist with organizing workshops and meetings with different stakeholders
  • Support to the preparation of, reports, agendas and presentations for project events
  • Follow-ups on outstanding issues with support office coordinate and follow up purchases, repairs and stationery acquisition
  • Manage the four vehicles and the drivers at the head office
  • Represent the WASH team in a pool for admin activities
  • Documentation of WASH reports, pictures and other relevant materials

Required Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years for BA; experience in WASH admin related matters is preferable
