SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is an International Non-governmental organization and a member of SOS Children’s Villages International Federation. We started our humanitarian work in Ethiopia with the opening of our first Village in Mekelle, Northern part of Ethiopia in 1974. Since then, we have expanded our programs  to different regions where there are significant needs for intervention and where we believe we can work in partnership with all relevant  actors to bring  sustainable  positive outcomes for children’s and young people.

Position: Face-to-Face Fundraiser (Volunteer)

Must Criteria

  •  Education: Level VI certificate or above in Marketing Management, Management, Public Relations, Communications and another related field of study
  • Experience: Previous fundraising, marketing (telemarketing) or sales experience (preferred)

While working with us a Volunteer Face-to-Face Fundraiser you will be in charge of the following,

Face-to-Face Fundraising 

  • Communicate directly with private citizens and organizations to sign them up with an emphasis on recruiting them as long-term sponsors
  • Utilize sales knowledge to identify and pursue fundraising opportunities
  • Cooperate with team members to set up fundraising tables and marketing materials at canvassing locations
  • Attend different exhibitions representing the organization

Digital Fundraising

  • Create compelling and persuasive content for various channels, including social media, website, and promotional materials
  • Design visually appealing and engaging materials, such as graphics and videos to support fundraising initiatives

Event Planning and Organizing

  •  Assist in planning and organizing fundraising events
  • Identify and lobby local businesses, organizations and individuals who can help us with the fundraising events

Safeguarding

  • Responsible for taking part in awareness-raising sessions and capacity-building training in relation to Child Safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Misconduct Regulation to prevent and protect children, young people, programme participants and co-workers from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence, discrimination and harassment;
  • Responsible for reporting any Child and Youth Safeguarding /Sexual Harassment Exploitation and Abuse and Asset protection , allegation or incident immediately, following the reports should be made to the designated team;
  • Responsible for showing their behavior and all relationships are based on the Sexual Misconduct Regulation, Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy and regulation, Code of Conduct, Anti Fraud and Anti Corruption Regulation and Good Management and Accountability Quality Standards
  • Conduct themselves per the Code of Conduct, Safeguarding and Local/Country Policies and Procedures;
  • Be vigilant about any possible form of abuse/harm, neglect, harassment, or exploitation against, children, youth and adults in personal and professional lives;
