National Election Board of Ethiopia Vacancy 2026

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) is an autonomous entity created in accordance with Article 102 of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Since its inception, the Board has established various branch offices at both federal and regional levels, including the two administrative cities. The NEBE has overseen five national elections, two local elections, and six referendums.

 

In January 2019, to initiate reforms within NEBE, the House of Peoples’ Representatives passed a new proclamation that streamlined the management board to five full-time members serving a term of six years. As per Proclamation no.1133/2019, the board is endowed with specific powers and responsibilities.

Position 1: Monitoring and Evaluation Expert

Education and Work Experience:

 
  • BA/BSC/MA/M.Sc. in Project Planning and Management, Economics, Statistics, and Related Fields.
  • 7 years and Bachelor | 5 years and Masters

Skill Requirements:

  • Expertise in monitoring and evaluation methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop M&E plans and indicators.
  • Proficiency in reporting and documentation.
  • Knowledge of risk management and internal monitoring systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Capacity-building and training experience.
  • Commitment to upholding transparency, ethics, and accountability in M&E activities.

Duty station: NEBE Head Quarter, Addis Ababa


Position 2: Media Monitoring Expert

Education and Work Experience:

  • Master or BA degree in Journalism, Communication, Statistics or any other relevant fields
  • 5 years for Masters or 7 years for BA

Mandatory trainings and certification

  • News features, Statistics
 

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Media monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of data interpretation
  • Report writing skills

Know-How (Skills) (Technical competencies):

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Communication skills
  • Attention to detail

Duty station: NEBE Head Quarter, Addis Ababa

Position 3: Head of Human Resources Management (HRM) Department

Requirements on academic qualification:

  • PhD/MA/MBA/ in Human Resource & Organizational Development, Business Management, Public Administration and related fields.

Requirements on Professional Experiences:

  • For PhD holders: at least 8 years of relevant experience of which 4 years on leadership position.
  • For MA/MBA holders: at least 10 years of relevant experience of which 4 years on leadership position.

Skills And Competencies

  • Multi –tasking.
  • Knowledge of various HR software.
  • An excellent team player, positive change manager and result orient personality.
  • Sound coaching, mentoring and capacity building skills.
