Position: Finance and Administration Assistant

Purpose of the role

Support the value creation of Bayer Ethiopia business by ensuring smooth running of business operations through timely execution of finance and administration related topics and activities in close liaison with country and regional teams.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Location: Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
  • Job Grade: E12
  • Job Type: Permanent

Finance Support

  •  Archiving local financial documentation for tax purposes
  • Statutory and Tax Audit support
  • Contribute to continuous process improvements in liaison with the finance manager and process enabling accountant
  • Coordinate local activities arising from SSO and Accounting team requests
  • Support local banking engagements and submissions
  • Support local tax and statutory submissions
  • Support with local customer and vendor engagements
  • Support procurement process of in country enabling department i.e. perform PR, GRV etc-Support finance manager in local process trainings
  • Support finance manager in compliance reviews
  • Support stock take process

Admin Support

  • General administrative support for Ethiopia office.
  • Support fleet management in local processes of company motor vehicles
  • Provide local execution support for HR related topics and documentation requests
  • Support the business in all T&E and Citi including barcode scanning of concur receipts and other related visiting staff support topics.
  • Support local QHSE (health and safety) administration tasks for Addis Ababa Office in liaison with GM BTRO, facility coordinator and regional
  • HSE coordinator.
  • Support the regional head of site and mobility services in execution of any other assigned in-country admin related tasks.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Management
  • CPA or other accounting qualifications
  • Over 3years experience in a busy office environment.
  • Some tax and banking knowledge for Ethiopia
  • Experience in shared service organization interactions
  • Impeccable Integrity and honesty
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Be accountable
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skill
