Embassy of Ireland invitations qualified applicants for the following job position.

Ireland has loved bilateral relations with Ethiopia since 1994, when its Embassy in Addis Ababa was once first opened. Ireland’s engagement in Ethiopia is guided by the Government of Ireland’s general overseas policy which seeks to promote a more secure, just, honest and sustainable world. Irish Aid, Ireland’s programme for international development, envisages a world where humans are empowered to overcome poverty and hunger, and fully realize their rights and potential. Irish Aid in Ethiopia consequently aims to benefit the poorest and most inclined sections of society.

Position: Administration- Finance Officer

Qualification, Experience and Skills:

  • The candidate must have degree in Management, Business Administration, Accounting or different relevant fields;
  • The candidate must have a minimal of three years’ relevant work experience with administration and economic responsibilities;
  • The candidate must have an excellent conversation and a high standard in English and Amharic, each spoken and written;
  • The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite;
  • The candidate need to have strong interpersonal skills and capability to deliver results each independently and as part of a multi-cultural team;
  • The candidate must have confirmed ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritise and work to deadlines, ability to reveal initiative, resourcefulness and perseverance;
  • The candidate must have strong interest to detail and accuracy, particularly in relation to monetary transactions;
  • The candidate must have good trouble solving, decision-making skills, analytical abilities and a very high trendy of personal integrity.
  • All applicants have to have a permanent legal proper to reside and work in Ethiopia.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience with an global organisation is desirable.
  • Experience in a coordinating role;
  • Experience of records management.
  • Start date: As quickly as possible.

Contract duration: The successful candidates will be hired on a constant term for three-year contract with a probation period of 60 working days.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, with wellknown office hours from 8am-5pm, with total working hours now not exceeding 48 hours per week as per local labour law.

Annual Leave Entitlement: Annual depart entitlement is 20 working days per annum.

Gross Salary: Entry point of scale for Grade THREE (€12,186.84 per annum) paid in local currency. Salaries are paid direct to a financial institution account; therefore, the successful candidate must have a financial institution account.

Eligibility: Candidates must have a permanent, legal proper to reside and work in Ethiopia and will be subject to employment and taxation law.
